we stand before you JUNTAS by Mari Salinas. Produced by BSBS Partnership. Sneak preview Feb. 1st and 2nd.
"What do you get when you put a Muslim, a Jew, and an immigration attorney in charge of raising the political consciousness of their community?"
Three flawed but courageous Latinas and their White sister extend their efforts to build community. They share with us their triumphs and struggles with race, sex, politics, and religion as they seek voice and light.

My name is Heide. I am playing the part of Maria, an Ecuadorian Jew. This is my first time articipating in theatre, and it is an HONOR to be a part of this play. This script illuminates sensitive subjects, and although it is has been a challenge, and sometimes awkward to act out issues dealing with race, religion, sexual orientation, economic status, politics, ect.; I am so grateful to be a part of a project with incredible meaning behind it. In my day to day life I am very quiet and reserved, and being able to express a variety of feelings while being Maria has been a wonderful therapy for me.
