Mari Salinas

Actress as Esperanza, producer, writer

I started working when I was twelve. I've: Counted teeth, manufactured: buckets, toothpaste, fake saliva, been maid waitress, cook: for the rich, the drunk, for an Iranian princess. Worn hair nets, rubber boots, goggles, mini skirts, Armani suits, ties, stilettos., evicted: meth makers, drug dealers, prostitutes, fried, baked, grilled, poached, and sauteed in: fast food, Chinese, Mexican, Italian, Peruvian restaurants, worked in: banks, stores, bakeries, restaurants, dance clubs, factories, warehouses, laboratories, and in a fish factory, managed: grocery stores, clothing shops, and hotels. I've volunteered for the united farm workers, marched with Cesar Chavez, gathered signatures, organized protests and boycotts, have never voted republican and have been writing poetry and short stories since the age of 4. I have two BAs in literature from the UW and three luminous children.
